Twenty years ago, a friend brought a group of us together for her wedding. We planned her bachelorette party, celebrated her baby shower, and over time, those gatherings became a tradition. Even as life pulled us across California, we made it a point to come together—usually around her birthday—to reconnect, laugh, and remind each other we weren't alone in the beautiful chaos of our lives.

At one of these gatherings, I brought gift bags for everyone. Not elaborate, just a few of my favorite beauty products—a goat milk body butter I couldn't stop using, a luxurious lip balm, maybe a shower gel that felt a little more special than the everyday stuff.
